The Parenting Stress Index (PSI) is a type of ASSESSMENT TOOL.
The Parenting Stress Index is used to identify parent-child problem areas, and is suitable for parents of children aged 1 month to 12 years. The Parenting Stress Index is designed for the early identification of parenting and family characteristics that fail to promote normal development and functioning in children, children with behavioural and emotional problems, and parents who are at risk of dysfunctional parenting.
The Parenting Stress Index consists of 120 items, and yields a Total Stress Score, plus Scale Scores for both parent and child, which pinpoint sources of stress within the family.
For further information on the Parenting Stress Index, see the Hogrefe website.
